Maybe I didn't read the description well, and that's why I'm pleasantly surprised, however - this isn't just a front/back laminated card - this is two pages front/back. They are one connected piece though, and already hole-punched so they would fit into a notebook nicely. There is a lot of information crammed into the cards though, so the writing is small, but just put on your reading glasses and learn Italian!
I got this card as something light to carry to class. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be very useful because even having had only one semester of college Italian, I can tell it leaves out too many important/useful grammar notes for the sake of space. Maybe it's just impossible to properly summarize the language on four pages, which is what the card attempts to do.For example, a tiny box lists only the most common prepositions ("a", "in", "di", "su", etc) without no mention of articolated prepositions ("alla", "nel", "sullo", "degli", etc). There is no discussion on telling time or expressions involving time, no common idiomatic expressions with verbs such as andare, dare, fare and stare (such as "avere fame" to say "I'm hungry").Small but I think important rules are left out. For instance, the section on nouns does not mention that foreign words generally have masculine gender, and that nouns ending with an accent do not change when pluralized. When making an adverb from an adjective, it doesn't cover how to handle adjectives ending in -le or -re. For possessive adjectives, it doesn't mention that articles are omitted when discussing immediate family ("mia madre" rather than "la mia madre").I can't fully judge the section on verbs because I haven't yet covered the various verb tenses in class, but for the ones I do know, the conjugations are laid out in a confusing manner to me.I figure at some point I'll look up something that's actually included on the card and find it useful, but I don't think it will be that often.
Duolingo doesn't explain much, it's mostly memorization.But using this reference guide made it less frustrating and more enjoyable.
Some time ago I bought the German grammar and found it quite good for a good and fast review. The Italian grammar is also excellent and has allowed me to understand the basics of this lovely language.
This card was really helpful for learning basic Italian. I used the information to get around Italy and I found it really helpful. Would buy again!
I really wanted something all on one page so that I can put it in my car and study it whenever I am waiting for something. It is perfect. It gives a good overview of most of the basic grammar. I think they covered as much as they can in just two pages.
I returned to studying Italian after years away from the language. This one page guide has been a lifesaver for quick review and reference.
It would be fine. It covers a lot of information, but the printing is too small for people like myself, age 87, with not such great eyesight. It is very well put together and I suppose for young eyes it's fine. If it weren't for that, I would have given it 5 stars .I guess you had to compress it to get everything into a limited space.
